With No Escape
It was nighttime and I was in a waiting room of some sort and there was a man about in his early thirties, not ugly, looked like a normal everyday person but there was something about him that tipped me off. He occasionally looked at me but I tried my best not to make eye contact when he did. The person I was with (family member I assume) got called up and I was left waiting alone with hat man in the room. After a few minutes, he got up and sat next to me and started to mumble something, his voice was soft. He said he needed me to walk to the car, told me it was the big black one in the front by the small tree. Then got up and sat in front of me. I did not listen to him I just hoped that the person who was with me would be out here soon. After a while he got up and started out to his car. When he got to his car, I saw him take out a huge whip like item and whip it into the car. I saw a little splash of blood come from the car that almost made my heart stop. He closed the door of the car and walked back into the room where I was at and sat down in front of me once more. Something inside me told me not to go to the car and part of me told me I better because there is someone or something in there getting killed, as I was thinking this, the man got up, roughly grabbed my arm, and shrugged me out the door. He paced with me to the car and said under his breath that it s going to cost me for taking so long. When we got to the car he threw me against the drivers door and I fell to the ground In pain, he grabbed my arms and pressed my body against the car with one hand and with the other he grabbed me by hair and hit my head hard against the glass he then opened the door to the back passenger seats and proceeded to pick me up and throw me In, all so fast I did not get a chance to react. He started out towards a back street close to the freeway. Tears swelled in my eyes and I started to cry frantically when I saw what it was that was in the car it was a naked girl and what was left of her face. She was dead. Quickly, as the car was barley starting out, I said I'm going to jump out and opened the door, I was ready to jump until he started to speed so fast it intimidated me and I decided not to. I told him to please let go, that I have a family, nieces, pets, friends, a boyfriend and that didn't seem to grab his attention he explained as he was driving that he was going to do things similar to what he had done to the girl. Hearing that made me feel helpless and I started to feel like I would not live through this. I started to cry out the same thing I had said moments ago and he took out that whiplike item and smacked me with it a couple of times it was painful, must have been studded with little razors because there were many razor sharp cuts on my shoulder and arm. The road we were on was familiar to me so I kept plotting In my head how I'm going to be able to escape. He started to talk to me again telling me that I will not be able to leave him and that he is making a promise that if I somehow escape, he will find me and he won't stop until he does and when he does he is going to kill me and some of those who mean a lot to me. He was running out of gas so he stopped at this gas station. There were these two older ladies In the brown car next to me. I crawled to the other side of the car where the dead girl sit, unlocked the door, and threw myself out as fast as I could and ran to the two women. They immediately let me in and the only thing I could say was to keep going. Of course he had seen me and he started to get in his car but we were too quick for him to catch up. I grabbed my cell phone and dialed 911. I told them everything I could about the man as we drove back to my house. When I got home, everyone who is usually in the single story home was there, my mom, dad, sister and pets. It was still dark out and my windows in my room were opened so I closed them quickly. I had this really uncomfortable feeling In my whole body and mind that it was not over from remembering what he told me. His words flowed in my ears as if he were In my room with me speaking to me, reminding me not to gain hope. I did not feel safe. I made sure all the windows in the whole house were locked and covered completely and I had a bright enough light in my room to keep me a bit at ease as I lay down on my bed. I then realized right there that I had left my I pod in his car somehow and I started to cry, he will find me. I ran to my mom and dads room and stood by my mom telling her that he will be here soon to get me. She told me that I will be fine and that it would take him a long time to track all of that so I went on her computer and tried to delete all my information off as many things as I could think of. Then a voice in my head told me to call the cops so I picked up the house phone and tried to dial but it wasn't working and my cell phone was in my room, a place where I really did not want to go. I was shaking so hard I felt nauseous, wanted to throw up. He knows where I am and he is waiting for me. I went to the corner of my parents room and cried helplessly. My mom, sister, and my dad were in the same room trying to figure out what to do then suddenly we hear a noise in my room. My dad walked up to the door and unlocked it, he peered at my room which was right across from theirs. He said there was nothing or no one there only an orange backpack with a note on it. My dad brought them In the room. I started by reading the note which was a list of things he wants to do to me and pictures of his previous victims, I open the bag finding the various items and tools he plans to use, Some crusted with blood and worn out from so much use. I went back to reading the letter and at the bottom I read the words that made chills shoot throughout my body, it said "No one has ever been able to escape me." I grabbed the phone again and tried to dial for help but the phone would not work, I tried again and this time I couldn't hear anything so I said "Help me!"then, a calm gentle male voice responded, it was him. He was in my room he said. He also said he is going to hurt me and do what he wants to me but he said he wasn't going to kill me. I was cold and shaky I could not gain any strength I just cried. My mom kept telling my dad to grab something and kill him but just like all of us, my dad was considering that he may have a weapon of some sort that he could defend himself with. Still with me on the phone, the man continued to taunt and tease me, saying that it will be good for him and not so good for me and explaining the letter more. He said that he is only sticking to his word that he will find me and saying it was easier than he planned . He said he is going to abuse me but to make sure he doesn't kill me. Then, I interrupted I screamed at him telling him to go away stating that he said he was going to kill me if he found me. My mom could not take it anymore so she ran out the door to my room. My sister screamed out to her and my dad yelled out her name and they both begged for her to come back but it was too late, I heard a scream that I never in my life ever wanted to hear from my mom. The scream was so bad that all I wanted was for it to stop and for my sister and dad to stop with their pain filled cries. The man came up to the door with my mom half alive. He was holding her arm and dragged her to the door so we could see. I kept repeating to him not to kill her and begging him to go away, I realized the phone was still in my hands and I have the chance to call for help seems he noticed that too so he closed the door to finish killing my mom, my dad during the time had taken the screen off the window and he and my sister were crawling out of it. I was stunned, I didn't realize they were calling for me to follow them. I knew that because i tried to call for help, i cost my moms life. The door opened and the man was there, he started to name of details about me, my name, my siblings, my school, he named everyone who i cared about and with each name he took one step closer, I looked up and that was the first and last time my eyes met with his.

A Man on a Black Horse.
It was the dead of the night. Everyone In the town had been brutally murdered except for the six women who had somehow escaped. One of those women was me.
We had reached a deserted small town and took cover in a small old barber shop. All of us huddled in; a few girls were gasping for air and making quiet squeals, hugging each other for comfort. I had fell silent and watched the door, there was no lock on the door which made me and the other girls frightened, that thought came into my mind that no doubt about it we were all going to die.
I tried my hardest to get the girls settled. We had been running for a long while and we had gotten no sleep or rest, we were all very exhausted. We were not running from a group of mad killers, only a man on a horse. He had sent other men to kill off the whole town but he had his full attention on us. The only girl I could remember well was the blonde hair blue eyed girl, she was about my age and very pretty, I watched her as she started to catch her breath. She was shivering in fear and her eyes, like mine, were fixed on that door, waiting for the man to come in any second, waiting for our death.
As much as I hated to think about it, I knew that the end of our lives was near. We all then heard the sound of a horse galloping closer and closer to our abandoned shop. Immediately we were all struck with fear. It was that same black horse the man is riding and he knew we were all in here. There were a couple dirty windows in this barber shop that we could all barely see out of, we could only see the horse every time it passed by, the horse was circling the shop, the man knew we were in here it was as if he was either trying to scare us out or deciding how many of us were in here.
I began to think of something that could get us out of here safely, I wanted to make a plan but there was no time. All the girls were whispering very softly and making almost silent weeps. I whispered to them “We have to be as quiet as we can, he knows we are in here, he wants us to be scared, he wants us to run out but no matter how scared you may be, do not run out of here do not scream. There are a few old rusty barber knives and other tools on the wall, “everyone grab one and keep it where the man will not be able to see it. We may die but don’t let us die like this, don’t make it easy you will all fight at least.” That’s all I felt that I could say at the moment. All the girls understood and grabbed a knife. As the horse circled, all the other girls grew tense they began to circle around in fear, their feet made noises on the old wood and made it creak. I told them to stop because he will know that we are afraid and that will only make him go on for longer. The girls settled down in a corner in the way back of the shop. The blonde girl and I were in the back also but we did not go in the corner, I had no one on my left.
I begin to think who the man would kill first when he decided to make his attack, I was almost sure it would be me, I was in the open. The light of the moon barely shone in through the window that was right behind me, I started to see the shadow of the horse slowly pass by, and soon that man would be at the door. I looked over at the blonde girl, there were tears coming from her eyes, she looked like she was stone cold dead.
The sound of the horse came to the front of the door then we could hear nothing but our still breathing.
The door then burst open from the horse kicking on it, the man hopped off the horse and stood in the doorway. He studied our faces, starting with mine. He moved his eyes to each girl. He was probably looking for the most confident and the most scared girl.
He stared at the girl who was in the corner; he slowly pulled what looked like a dart out of a sling on his back. The needle at the end was long, looking at it made the girl shake and cry, she knew she was the one who was going to die first. I felt so scared for her it made me want to cry it made me sick. The man pulled his arm back and with a swift flick of his wrist, sent the dart straight to her heart. The girl gasped and slumped over.
The man looked straight at me as soon as the dart hit the girl. This was the first time I actually saw what he looked like. He was wearing a black cowboy hat, his face was stiff and full he had stubble around his dirty face, his eyes were cold blue almost gray, they were filled with nothing but hate. I begin to feel uneasy, I started to clench my hand harder around the rusted knife I was holding and I rubbed my thumb along the ridged edges. He saw that I was doing something and he pulled his hand back to reach for another dart, this is when I knew I was next. I slowly set down the knife and put my knees up to my chest I wrapped my arms around my knees and pulled them closer to protect my chest if he were to throw the dart. He saw that I did this and slowly put the dart back. He then pulls out a large knife and begins to walk toward me.
As he slowly approached me, I begin to sob, “Leave us alone, please. Please don’t hurt me just let us leave.” He didn’t say a word, he slashed both my arms quickly with his knife, I yelped and took my arms away from my knees. He walked back to the door and stared at me I cradled my head in my knees, still protecting my chest. He pulled his black coat open and reached for a blade he had in his inside pocket. He walked up to me once again, put his hand on my chin to pull my head up then, quickly, he slashed my throat with the blade and I closed my eyes and put my head on the blond girl’s shoulder, I tried my hardest to look as if I was dead. I then felt something sharp plunge into my right eye.
The dream was not over and I was not dead. I opened my eyes to see the four girls, They were all alive. I rubbed my hand on my neck to see if all of this had really happened, I felt the blood and the slit. It did happen but how was I still alive? One of the girls sat by me with a towel and a bowl of water, she dunked the towel in the bowl and slowly rubbed the blood off my neck. “What happened? Where is the man?” I asked. The girl looked into my eyes and said “Dead, we killed him. We thought you were dead. After he attacked you one of us that was closest to the door ran over to the man and stabbed him in the neck with one of our knives. We all got up and did our part, the blond girl next to you threw your knife and hers at the man stabbing him in the leg and the side. One of the other girls grabbed a gun from out of a bag on the horses back she walked up to the man who was now helplessly laying on the floor, she closed her eyes and shot him in the head, her screams were as loud as the shot if not, louder. I saw that you were still breathing but I wasn’t too sure if you were going to make it, the other girl who had been hit with one of the darts died immediately. The dart was filled with poison and the guy who had thrown it at her was very skilled with getting it to reach her heart. The dart that had hit your eye did not penetrate deep enough to harm you too much and in fact it barely missed your eyeball you could call yourself lucky because the dart had no poison in it. The slash on your neck isn’t too serious either it’s more of a scratch than anything but there is always the chance it could be infected.” I didn’t say anything. I looked around and figured they had taken me to the back room of an andoned saloon. I looked over and saw the blonde girl sitting down, petting a white cat that lay in her lap sleeping. Then I woke up.
